Loft Conversion – Structural & Construction Works
This project involved a full loft conversion, transforming an unused roof space into a structurally sound and practical living area. The works were carried out in a carefully planned sequence, with a strong focus on structural integrity, safety, and compliance with Building Regulations. The project began with the installation of structural steel beams in accordance with the structural engineer’s drawings, providing the necessary support for the new floor and roof alterations. New timber floor joists were installed to form the loft floor structure, creating a solid base for the new space. Structural openings were formed and trimmed as required to accommodate the new layout.
A dormer structure was constructed to increase usable floor space and head height, with external works carried out under full scaffolding and weather protection. Roof alterations included timber framework, roof coverings, and detailing to ensure the structure was fully watertight and durable. Throughout the build, careful attention was given to workmanship, sequencing, and site safety. The loft conversion was progressed in a controlled manner to minimise disruption to the occupied property below. All structural works were completed in line with approved drawings and industry standards, leaving the loft ready for internal fit-out and final finishes.
This loft conversion has created valuable additional living space while enhancing the overall functionality and long-term value of the property.
